By the Fireside
Riding first class
And then a train wreck
Pulls apart the pieces to your puzzle
and you wonder why it's like that
You run head first to the scene of the crime
To inspect all the damage that you couldn't hide
But first and forward at the front of your mind
If you couldn't push away, then you might have died
At home now
By the fireside
Happy to be so far away
from the spotlight
There's a Bible
On the bookshelf
It's making you feel guilty even though
you're being just yourself
Sink in deep to the warmth of the chair
Your better self saying oh, don't you dare
But before you get the action out of your head
The gun goes up, and out comes the lead.
