Alas, I think this will be my last blog from BC. I went out for dinner last night with an old friend, then went and watched the Neil Young's Heart of Gold by myself. Great flick. I love that guy.
I guess I don't have much to say. I have a strong feeling in my heart, but I can't put it into words. I don't know what it is. It seems like a mixture of good and bad. Of excitement and disappointment. It's wierd to see this chapter ending. It's sad. But I'm excited for the possibilities the future holds. I'm sure it will clear up once things settle down. I found a place to live, and quite possibly a job, if the interview goes well.
I'll post again when I arrive in Saskatoon, and I look forward to hanging out with those of you that live there!

So I'm looking for a job in Saskatoon, starting in April, if anyone knows of anything! Thanks!

Packing always forces me to throw away countless random items. I have a huge pile in the middle of my room of things for the dump. I wonder why I've held onto it all for so long. I cleaned out my fishtank, packed up my books, went thru some old pictures...
It's quite a disaster in here right now. Kinda reflects what's going on in my brain. I'm transplanting myself again. I have no idea what I'm going to be doing in Saskatchewan. It's kind of exciting, kind of daunting. I just hope that there is some greater purpose to this all. To make it feel really worthwhile.
I'm going to miss Vancouver. I'm going to miss Bella.
Looking even farther into the future is where it gets really confusing. I think that I want to do this recording with kids thing. But then again, maybe I should go to university. Maybe I should work my way up in the hotel world. Maybe I should become a farmer. Maybe I should move to Toronto and date this girl I met on the weekend.
I guess you can't really make plans too far in advance. I've been feeling like my life has been on hold for the last several years. I know that I've done some pretty cool things in that time, but it still doesn't feel like I'm where I want to be. If I knew where I wanted to be, that would be a good start.
Does anyone else feel like they're just waiting for something to happen?

I'm listening to the new Destroyer album right now. Good stuff. Go check it out.
So, Bella went to Toronto this weekend for Canadian Music Week. I must say it was an amazingly good time. I got into town on Friday at about 9pm. Met up with Char, Tiff, and Cam at the hotel, and proceeded directly out the door to party it up with our free passes! So that was fun, drank too much, went to bed late, woke up late. On Saturday, we went pretty much straight to the club for load in at 5pm. Turns out the email was wrong, and we had to wait around for a couple hours. The club we were playing at was called Healey's. Turns out that Healey's is owned by the Canadian guitar legend, Jeff Healey. He also happened to be playing with his jazz band that afternoon. Man, that was amazing to watch. He's been blind since age 1, and plays the guitar flat on his lap. Incredible.
So we drove around for an hour or so trying to find parking, and then walked down Queen Street, checking out the shops and such. I went back to the club early and watched some more jazz. So we shared this TINY dressing room with 4 other bands, and got to meet a few cool people before the show. Ben Rogers (www.benrogers.ca), played before us, very cool guy. He let me borrow his tuner pedal.
As for the show, it was one of my favorites. The sound was great, the place was packed, and the crowd was really into it. We even had dancers come up on stage for Crystal Tears, except all but 2 got kicked off by the club. Party poopers.
After the show, we got to meet a bunch of people, all of whom were very nice to us. So we stuck around the club for awhile, and then us, some friends and some fans, all went to this place called the Boat. There was a "band" "playing" "music" there. They were awful. So then after they were done there was some dance music and we danced.
Then we went to Sneaky D's. There was food and good conversation. All in all we got back to the hotel around 6am, and I had to take the 8am shuttle to the airport.
It was a great weekend, although I would have liked to stay longer. There was a certain person there that I could have talked to for a few more hours. I'll post some pictures when I get some.
